On Thursday November 14 in Zaragoza will take place the Spanish Regional Meeting for WiderMoS project, gathering Project Partners and Stakeholders with the objective of discussing all aspects of the project itself, exchanging ideas and points of view.
The overall project objective is to demonstrate WiderMoS long-term , effective and sustainable connection between the motorways of the sea and the main network corridors defined by the Ten- T (Trans-European Transport Network) . As political and operational framework, WiderMoS pursues the improvement of an effective and sustainable connection between different modes of transport (rail, sea) and the development of new ports/ interfaces ship / train; and contributes as a starting point in the analysis of how the MoS are operatively linked .
Within this framework , WiderMoS project partners are responsible for collecting and using information concretely collected from stakeholders in order to make possible to configure and operate these corridors in the ” Core Network”. In particular , ASTA Logistik will focus on Spanish and Iberian contexts, given the facts that both Portugal and Spain have commoninterests in improving freight transport through efficient and optimal multimodal corridors . Therefore inputs and feedbacks from users and other stakeholders are needed, in order to be analyzed and taken into account by policy makers in the EU. During the one-day workshop in Szaragoza stakeholders from ports, transport companies, logistics providers and ICT in road transport operators and rail will be the target groups considered and guests. For what concerns Spain , representatives of the Ministry of Public Works involved in the development of Rail ( ADIF ) , will also be invited , as well as customs authorities. At the same time, the Spanish Association Freight ( FETEIA) will participate in the organization of this first meeting.
