Partners from all the European countries involved in On the MoS Way-Network Project (co-financed by the European Commission and under the Marco Polo Programme) were hosted yesterday, (Monday 11th may 2015) by Wartsila Head Office in Helsinki.
The visit is part of the “multi-site” tour in Baltic Area aiming at visit places and interview professional in order to gather concrete knowledge on some of the core elements of the LNG supply chain.
After an overview on Wartsila company, a global leader in complete lifecycle power solutions for the marine and energy markets, Mr Tomas Aminoff, Technology Strategy Director at Wartsila, presented their wide range of low and medium-speed diesel, gas and dual- and multi-fuel engines for marine propulsion, electricity generation on board ships and for land-based power stations.
More information were given on LNG’s bunkering infrastructure and on the cruise ferry M/S Viking Grace bunkering operation, this last one being the core of the next day visit.
