The TrainMoS II Consortium is pleased to announce the Final Event that will celebrate the success of the Project which is approaching its conclusion.
The Action (2013-EU-21012-S) co-financed by the European Commission under the TEN-T 2013 Multi-annual Call for Proposal and aiming at supporting the expansion of knowledge on MoS-related issues taking into account emerging needs and challenges of the multi-modal transport system, has met the expectations.
Six post-graduate modules constituting a thorough and updated training package for the MoS workforce of the future are all about to be delivered within the end of the year; six professional courses have been already concluded with the enthusiasm of tens of professionals employed in several sub-sectors of the multi-modal transport system; an e-learning platform has been used and a learning management system created to ensure the geographical barriers’ abatement and contents future free availability; a web tool for matching the demand and offer in terms of MoS-related jobs, training and business opportunity has been developed; more than 130 stakeholders stepped in during the early consultation phase and hundreds of actors belonging to the multi-modal supply chain have been involved at various levels during the whole Project’s lifetime.
In order to promote the Action, spread the word about the “Training Motorways of the Sea” approach and gain the endorsement of those within EU Institutions which are inside the subject, the Consortium will pull together illustrious personalities at the European Parliament in Brussels two weeks by now, on the 9th of December 2015.
The event titled “TrainMoS II: the human element in Motorways of the Sea” is organized by Regione Liguria and will be hosted by MEP Sergio Cofferati at room A3H-1 of the Altiero Spinelli Building in Brussels.
Speeches will be held prior by key Projects Partners representatives to show TrainMoS II achievements, with delegates of the European Commission, Members of the European Parliament and representatives of the shipping Industry to follow, providing their view on the importance of proper training to foster maritime and logistic sectors competitiveness.
