THE Alliance excludes two Italian ports from 2019 schedule

Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) December 18, 2018 – Shipowning consortium THE Alliance, including Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd, Japan’s Ocean Network Express (ONE) and Taiwan’s Yang Ming, has reduced the number of Italian ports of its scheduled services for 2019 to two from four.

The alliance has eliminated the ports of Livorno and Salerno from its 2019 schedule, while Genoa and La Spezia remain part of the MD2 Asia-Mediterranean service. Livorno and Salerno were excluded from the AL6 service.

Altogether next year the consortium will employ over 249 ships to realize the following 29 containerised maritime services at 76 ports.
