The transport department maintainer of the port terminal is responsible for maintenance and emergency services on the electrical component and its associated mechanical parts, all of the handling means (tractors, forklifts, flatcars, fifth wheels, cranes) operating in the port terminal. He/she manages scheduled maintenance of various means and checks the correct operations of the lighting systems, lifting, anti-tip and protective.
He checks the wear conditions of the components of the means.
For more complex or extraordinary repairs, after management approval – he collaborates with other operators. Before any operation, he places the vehicle in a safe condition following directions of the manufacturer. The maintainer goes on site, following calls emergency.
1. Being able to carry out routine maintenance of the lifting means
To find out the mechanical and electrical failures
To meet deadlines for scheduled maintenance
To detect the vehicle malfunctions
To carry out easy repairs on the mechanical and electrical parts
To check and replenish the level of oil, fuel, water and battery
To check the condition of the ropes and the slinging materials
2. Being able to perform the repair of the port terminal means
To respond to intervention’s requests
To remove the piece and take it to the workshop
To eliminate faults with electrical – mechanical repairs
To carry out the replacement of worn parts
To manage the ordering of spare parts
To activate , when necessary , the procedure of the technical intervention of the manufacturer
