September 13, 2018 – Piraeus Port Authority SA (PPA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China’s Guangzhou Port which is one of the 10 largest commercial ports in the world.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of PPA Capt. Fu Chengqiu and the General Manager of Guangzhou Port Chen Hongxian.
The areas of cooperation in the agreement are: personnel training, know-how and information exchange, and developing initiatives for environmental protection.
The main objective of the MOU is the implementation of best practices in port management that will enable the development of trade and supply chain.
PA S.A. has signed similar agreements with the port of Shanghai International Port Group (June 2018) and Qingdao International Port Group (July 2018).
Piraeus Port Authority is operated by China’s COSCO Shipping Ports Limited.
