Motorways of the Sea Coordinator and Member States discuss priorities at MoS Forum

IMG_2034Motorways of the Sea Coordinator Brian Simpson OBE hosted representatives of the EU Member States for a morning of discussions on the future priorities of Motorways of the Sea.

Mr Simpson presented the Detailed Implementation Plan, which was published in June 2016 and shared with the Member States for comments and suggestions. A presentation from INEA highlighted the results of the MoS programme so far and presented some success stories for each of the Coordinator’s priority pillars: Environment, Integration of maritime transport in the logistics chain, and Safety, Traffic Management and the Human Element.

The Coordinator’s team then presented the way forward towards the updated version of the DIP, which will be unveiled in June.

Member States provided constructive comments to the current version of the DIP and on the methodology going forward. Brian Simpson commended this positive dialogue as paramount when identifying future priorities for the strong and effective Motorways of the Sea Programme.
