On Thursday 29th November the Med Atlantic Ecobonus project final event was held in Lisbon, at the Auditorium Rocha Conde d’Obidos. Thanks to the contribution of institutions, industry players and project partners the conference was a great opportunity both for the analysis of the project results and methods and for the debate among the market players.
After the welcome addresses and openings by Mr. Paulo Pamplona (DGRM), a keynote speech was carried out by Prof. Ruben Eiras (DGPM – Ministry of the Sea). Then the Institutional Session aimed at presenting the framework in which the project was developed: moderated by Mr. Paulo Lopes Bernardo, the session was developed thanks to the contributions by EU institutions – Mr. Wojciech Sopinski (European Commission) – and Project partners – Alvaro Rodriguez (Puertos del Estado, Download here the presentation), Francesco Benevolo (RAM, download here the presentation) , Luís Pimenta (IMT) and Florence Pajon (MTES)
Following this session, the presentation of the study put the basis for the discussions developed in the other round tables: project coordinator Antonio Gongora delivered a presentation concerning the overall approach of the project and the main outcomes (Download here the presentation) and Carlos Alvarez-Cascos, Shipping Business Consultants, explained the external cost calculator (Download the presentation).
Then a keynote speech by Mr. Markku Mylly – EMSA, European Maritime and Safety Agency – (Download the presentation) introduced the Environmental Round Table: moderated by Mr. Andrea Molocchi – Italian Minister for the Environment, Land and Sea Protection (Sogesid spa)- , the session was made by the contribution by Mrs. Birgitte Brevik – Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communication – who explained the Norwegian national schemes (Download the presentation ), by Mr. Michele Acciaro – Kühne Logistics University – about how to measure socio-environmental merits ( Download the presentation ) and by Mr. Josè Rino – European Investment Bank – who deepened the financial instruments (Download the presentation ).
Finally the Stakeholder Perspective round table examined in depth, with a very interactive debate, the positions of ports, road and rail operators concerning the EU incentives to logistics and transport industry fields: moderated by Mr. Alexio Picco the round table was made by the contribution from François Potier (Brittany Ferries), Mario Massarotti (Grimaldi), Daniel Criado-Pérez (Flota Suardiaz), Esmeralda Neto (Trans Italia), Ana Arévalo (Port of Barcelona), Amadeu Rocha (Port of Leixões), Calogero Burgio (Port of Civitavecchia), Christophe Leclerc (Port of Nantes).
