The 4th Forum Shipping & Intermodal Transport is fast approaching! After the opening remarks by Regione Liguria President Giovanni Toti, Saverio Romero, chief research officer at Beecham Research, will introduce the topic of the IoT potential for the logistic and maritime industries, leading the debate among the most important trade Associations and the industry players involved.
Then, thanks to the contribution by PwC, will be examined in depth the European perspective for the digitalization of flows along the transportation routes and the connection among the logistic hubs along the corridors.
Emerging technologies that are reshaping the shipping industry will be the focus of the following round table. Thanks to the contribution of Italian and international companies, one session of the conference will be dedicated to the analysis of new trends and innovative projects: Actility will present the project on the deployment and testing of a location and tracking solution for IoT devices in the Port of Barcelona and Circle will deal with Industry and Supply Chain 4.0 themes, with operative case histories of IoT technology applied to logistic, customs and maritime- intermodal chain.
This section of the conference will be followed by a round table dedicated to the Italian National Logistical Platform and to the perspectives of the structure of systems and applications aimed at building a safe and inclusive connection among all the players of the logistic chain. Ports of Genoa and the operators that implemented the project – DXC, Hub Telematica, Spediporto and UIRNET – will take part in the debate.
The event will be concluded by the analysis of the role and the value of the cyber security for the data protection with the introduction by Carlo Piana, managing director of Credit Agricole Carispezia and the chairmanship by Gian Enzo Duci, president of Federagenti. During the debate will be considered the impacts of the cyber security on the business administration, the answer of the insurance industry and the perspective of the national maritime cluster for the cyber risk management respectively with the contribution of University of Genoa, Siat and Coast Guard of Genoa.
