The event “DIGITAL TRANSPORTATION ROUTES. IoT and Big Data: opportunities and risks of the digital transformation” is fast approaching. During the conference, that will be held in Genoa (Palazzo San Giorgio) on 20th November 2017, will be analyzed the advantage taken through the opportunities offered by the so-called digital transformation for anyone looking to be competitive in the logistics and transport sector.
The vision of the Internet of Things (IoT), with its vast panorama of technologies, makes possible the collection of large quantities of data through “connected” machines and objects, and to determine which actions make operations more efficient.
Emerging technologies are indeed reshaping the shipping industry. Thanks to the contribution of Italian and international companies, a whole session of the conference will be dedicated to the analysis of new trends and innovative projects: Actility will present the project on the deployment and testing of a location and tracking solution for IoT devices in the Port of Barcelona; the start-up T-Mining will go into more detail on the development of the Blockchain solution for a safe and efficient container release in the Port of Antwerp and Circle will deal with Industry and Supply Chain 4.0 themes, with operative case histories of IoT technology applied to logistic, customs and maritime- intermodal chain.
But, as often happens, every innnovation brings with it elements of uncertainty: a focus on the role and the value of cyber security for the safety of company’s data will conclude the debate.
The event will be web-streamed on The MediTelegraph Youtube channel
The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 01:00 p.m.
The participation is free of charge, the registration is mandatory.
