Reinhard Lüken, Managing Director – German Shipbuilding and Ocean Industries Association (VSM) will chair the opening day of this year’s Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference, followed by Lars Robert Pedersen, Deputy Secretary General – The Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) on the 15 November 2018.
Reinhard Lüken has dedicated his life’s career to working in the shipping industry and joined VSM in 2012 after working as the first Secretary General of SEA Europe. Lüken will offer delegates detailed insight into the latest developments within the sector, facilitate discussions during panels and further encourage audience participation.
Lars Robert Pedersen joined BIMCO as Deputy Secretary General in 2010 and is currently responsible for BIMCO’s technical and operational activities including membership services, technical and nautical issues and security. His role also encompasses responsibility for regulatory developments related to ship operation at international, regional and national levels. Before joining BIMCO, Mr Pedersen was involved in the technical management of the Maersk fleet of container ships at A.P. Moller-Maersk. Mr Pedersen will join the conference on the second day.
The Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference 2018 marks the 40th edition of The Motorship’s annual conference,incorporating the 9th Gas Fuelled Ships and will welcome a record number of sponsors this year, including DNV GL as gold sponsor and GTT and MTU/Rolls-Royce as silver sponsors.
